When a police chief verifies incentive pay that officers, including himself, are to receive on a form for FDLE, then writes a "memo" to the Town Clerk and changes the dollar amount to a higher amount, how can anyone say it's not intentional? The FACTS are in black and white, why not request to see the FACTS through a public records request? OPEN YOUR EYES, we would call anyone else who does this a "CON ARTIST", "THIEF" and a "LIAR"!

OK, I will try to answer you Susan as best I can:

A: David Syrkus was in control of the personell records for ALL police department employees at Melbourne Village, including his own. To the best of my knowledge, there was no investigation done on the check incident. There was however, an investigation done on the 7-11 incident and this information SHOULD have been in his file. There are many items missing from his file. On the other Blog it says that he got a bad evaluation from the mayor and so forth. Was it in the file? Channel 9 has a copy of an item that should have been in his disciplinary file but was not. They have the story online at:

A: The same son that has been (to the best of my knowledge)arrested on other charges. The one that Syrkus was renting the apartment for.

A: I am not sure what woman you are referring to but the one from the theft incident was SEEN in David's police vehicle by a uniformed officer the late at night prior to the investigation being closed because the victim decided not to follow up on it.

I hope that this gives you more information Ma'am. I am sure others that have more information on this subject will be more than happy to assist you also. Understand that there are many people that do not want thier names released in this matter and have a great deal of valuable information but are affraid to come forward due to the fact that DAVID has taken action resulting in negative effects against many of the people that have brought up negative facts about him in the past. As writtten in another blog on this site, Syrkus illegally used the FDLE (priviledged information) computers to look up an employee of 7-11 after he filed a complaint against him (sound familiar, this is the same thing Sheriff Berry was accused of doing) Only difference is that Syrkus wrote a note to this mans boss and got him fired. Please ask if you have any other questions that you would like answered. Either me or one of the many other citizens that do not like corruption will be able to answer.

thetruthis, thanks for correcting my error. I do remember them being in that area, but they were kept in the CHIEF's office prior to and during the time that they were requested for the background investigation and many of the current public records requests..

First of all to the thetruthis. My name is not registered as "one " in charge. I am merely an invited member of the blog. That is a very stupid assumption for you to make. And even though you are posting behind a screen name I do know exactly who you are. So I know you and you know who I am since I choose not to post anonymously. I have called you recently and requested you contact me concerning the Chiefs personel file and you have yet to return my call. I wanted to talk with you more about what we discussed in a previous conversation. If you have information that I have requested in the original post I made then don't you think I should have it so I can be fully informed? You are all making a lot of accusations but have yet to provide any documentation supporting them . I intend to research all of your comments today and any information that I find that will support or deny your claims will be reported. If you really have good information give it to me and I will see that it gets to the proper authorities. I will keep all names confidential. I especially believe in the right to free speech anonymous or not but I also know simple accusations without documentation have no merit or credibility.

Susan, I am sorry to disappoint you but I am not the one you think I am. I do not know you and have never actually heard of you. I am, in fact a citizen that believes in bringing the truth to the table and if you have information that disproves the information I, or any of the people on this "blog" please bring it to our attention. I am not closed minded, I just want the truth out there. I am one of the people that have observed Syrkus' reign first hand and have seen the results of his deception. If I can prevent this from happening to anyone/anywhere else...I will do what is in my power to do this. David Syrkus is a snake and will try to hurt anybody that stands in his way or voices an opinion other than the one Syrkus expresses. Sounds kind of closed minded to me. I refuse to censor (PG-13 please!) anybody. But we need to remain on task. This "BLOG" is to be used to bring the uninformed to the light. There is enough animosity in this world as it is. I would like to get the information out there to those that believe what Syrkus has told them. Question I have is... WAS Syrkus employed outside of Florida like he told an officer? He stated that he watched his Field Training Officer get shot right in front of him in a city in New Jersey. Has anyone looked into a background up there... I WILL. I want the truth, and it is not coming from David.
On another note, I would like to apologize for any misspelled words! I often get involved in what I am writing (mainly due to the fact that I hate liars) that I overlook some errors!
Together WE will uncover the truth behind the lies. If you want to help, please do.

I never said I had meet you or know you personally but based upon information I have about the person who I think you may be I would like to meet and talk with you. I think you may have information others not able to get or is not available in the public records. By the way how does the lawsuit Jennifer Coulter is involved in with the powers that be fit into this equation? Does she stand to gain anything by this blog discrediting David Syrkus? This issue could be very important in the success or failure of the suit.
To thetruthis I may be mistaken but some of your comments are very similiar to anothers comments. Some are almost the exact words that I have been told directly by another person.

Susan, Thank you for your concern about the lawsuit that Ms. Coulter is involved in. I will pass it on next time I speak to her. However, this "blog" has nothing to do with Ms. Coulter and has a lot to do with David Syrkus. I am glad that, as done in the past, David is able to play the victim and try to deflect the blame on others. This "blog" has nothing to do with whatever lawsuit he is involved in and DOES involve the future of your city. The question is, do you want the truth the way it REALLY occurs or do you want the SYRKUS truth?
As written in your post, I do have a lot of information and have access to even more. I love the internet! However, Public record is the correct way to obtain the information. If you REALLY want the truth, you can find it out there. I do not want to meet with one of the people that are closed minded and wont listen to the facts and only want to listen to Syrkus. I have 2 words for you; PUBLIC RECORDS!! You can find out a lot about a person if you would just do the research. For instance, I typed in your name on the County Clerks website and I found out you ran a red light or stop sign and they gave me your birthdate and your address. Don't worry I'm not coming for dinner or sending you a BD card. You see, some people only use the public records to become informed. Unlike your "Chief" who uses these records to find people to retaliate against or to "pay-off." Get with the progran girlfriend, open your mind and your eyes. As long as this guy has a blind audiance he will continue to get away with ruining people. He is a wolf in sheeps clothing and people like you are his flock today dinner tomorrow.
P.S. Has anyone looked into his so-called bachelors degree? I was told by several people that he purchase this document online. By the way, these people are friends of his and he bragged away about it. So, no names please.
Well the degree was certainly purchased. No question about that. Just plug in Hamilton University in your search and bang there it is as a 60 minute story. He needed a degree to be considered by Melbourne Beach for chief. So he did it the easy way and just bought it. If you talk to those in the no and look at the Town minutes posted on there web site you will find there was quite a process with about ten people on the chief selection board. Chief Syrcus bragged about his degree at the time and made it to a 5 person elibibility list. From there Mr. Higginbotham picked him. But Mr. Higginbotham won't do anything to the Chief because he got caught in Gainsville lying about having a degree to. He put it on his application then when he got caught said it was a clerical error. HA! Sounds like Chief Syrcus got his story about the overpayment of funds at Melbourne Village from Mr. Higginbotham . Such an embarrassment to Gainsville but the kept him at the time to avoid having to admit there background checks failed.

Big_ram posting someones home address on an internet site is really irresponsible. I do not think you would like avery nutcase out there to know where you live. You have endangered the life of this person and you should be ashhamed of yourself . Besides it makes all of us who think you are correct about our past Chief David Syrkus look like idiiots. I though this site was about doing the right thing and exposing the late Chief for what he really is. When he started checking she put all comments on the site as annoymous saying no more dick tracy. Now she tells everyone here to state their name. Susan you are a BIG JOKE!! Your asking a lot of good questions but I think you forgot one of the players in getting this idiot Syrkus hired. Carl Bailey was the interum Chief at the time and he did play a big part in getting Syrkus hired on, in fact, he was one of the biggest cheerleaders in this disaster. Keep in mind also that all of these people were duped by this (SYRKUS) sociopathic "victim." Ms. Smith probably did feel some pressure during the hiring process however, that's no excuse, when your trusted with this type of position where you have the authority to say who will be incharge of your city's police department you have to have a thick skin and not be so easily swayed by "the good ole boys." Small town politics can be brutal which is why crossing your Ts and dotting your I(s) is a must. Maybe the city of MB should adopt a new policy where they would have an outside agency choose their next chief (this one IS on his way out) because obviously they can't be objective enough to use common sense and have no clue as to how to run a THOROUGH back round check on their candidates. Think about it, if they had done their jobs in the first place one of the other (truly qualified) candidates would have been awarded this important position and we wouldn't be here today talking about it. To Psycho Syrkus I say; if you have any dignity at all, resign now. Although, I would very much enjoy seeing you torn apart by the media and the FDLE. You have a lot of skeletons in your closet and they are about to come out. I feel for your wife and I'm sorry about her emergency appendectomy, I do question the timeliness of this event. It reminds me of Wag the Dog. That was a pretty good movie. Your words are kind of strong, which "idiots" are you referring to? I was able to get "her" address simply by typing in her name to the clerks web site. I assure you, I am no threat to her life. I appreciate the support but I can stand up and admit when I made a mistake. This action was taken care of immediately and I issued an apology... Some of us can actually stand up and admit when we are wrong and take the heat, but anyways... That bridge is crossed and now we have new stuff to look forward to. Ms. Connie Smith, appointed interim town manger when Bill Hoscovec quit wanted to hire former Melbourne Beach officer Kevin Hildreth who had walked out on the PD months before after a dispute with the female police chief Mr. Hoscovec hired. She was giving orders as chief, had an office, uniform, badge, wore a town department uniform, drove a patrol car but was not really the police chief according to Mr. Hoscovec??? Hildreth walked without notice and he was a friend of Ms. Smith son, a current member of the force. Looks like she was trying to help him out rather than the town by putting in Hildreth as Chief. Mayor Walters at the time brought up the fact that Mr. Hildreth had not even applied for the job and was not on the list of eligible applicants. The Town Commission unanimously agreed with him and Ms. Smith quit after 6 weeks as interim town manager claiming interference by him. The town charter allows the city manager to hire and fire but he have to do it according to the policy of the Town. Which brings up the fact how in the world did the female chief who demanded more money after just 3 months on the job, remain employed full time in North Miami Beach the entire time she was chief in Melbourne Beach? FDLE looked at this violation but did nothing. She quit Melbourne Beach shortly after the Melbourne Chief left and applied for the Melbourne Police Chief job. But not before getting her huband the job as chief of Melbourne Beach. He never applied for the job as many others on the current list had, had no degree, no management experience etc. no more than a sergeant in miami PD after 25 years but Mr. Hoscovec town manager at the time just hired him and e-mailed the town commission. When the new chiefs wife didn't get the melbourne chiefs job she went back to North Miami beach PD and became police chief there on contract although she was retired from there. Seven months later her husband quit as Melbourne Beach chief and went back to miami to be with her. Ms. Smith was put in as interim Manager and she tried to put in Hildreth. In the meantime Florida Today tells a story complaining about Mayor Walters and all the people that quit because of him. Like who? Read the Town minutes folks and ask those in the know. Incompetent is incompetent. Poor jugement is poor judgement. Will Melbourne Beach ever be able to afford to hire the cream of the crop when selecting a Town manager or are they destined to keep scraping the bottom of the barrel to hire a manager? This Dieterle woman gets her information from a bunch of Town losers who got voted out of office in last two elections and can't stand the pain of rejection.

Now come on just because you are getting sued for accusing Commissioner Walters of committing how many crimes? Guess your employer son should have lots of liability insurance since he knows your publishing these lies while working from his business office and computer. Hello All. Guess what? Someone hired a private eye to get dirt on Dean Darling. I wonder who that could be? HMMMM let me think about it for awhile. So Dean Darling files a complaint against the Police Chief about a fradulent degree and now he has a private eye on his tail? HA HA HA. Mr. Darling beware. Don't put your trash out, it may be confiscated. Big demand out there for garbage. What else should he watch for blog contributors? Come on now think of something and post it here.
No he did not speak. Ms. Parker spoke for him saying he built the MVPD from nothing and was a good chief. I am not sure what that has to do with the issues now. If you steal a car from a person you can not it take back a week later and say sorry I am a good person.
I have a suggestion for the blogger wanting to know what else Mr. Darling should watch out for. Tell Mr. Darling not to bend over in front of Syrkus. Do you people see what is going on here? sad sue wants to have Town council meetings on TV. we guess she isn't getting enough attention from the folks that no she is "special" from the e-mails from Mr. Walters. if there TV can you get up and read lies for ten minutes at a time? say anything you wantand how does it work? If the mayor paid attention to order there would be no name calling or attacks on individuals. comm. Price should be fun to watch with his screaming and yelling and threathening. sad sue is also disruptive to our community and strange. maybe she can tell us on TV how the chief got his degree. Hey anonymous, LOL, could you see that fiaco the other night on TV? How funny would that have been? What do you think would happen to real estate sales in Melbourne Beach if people saw those idiots on TV? I think the Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Realtors would veto that idea. I have been to a few town meetings in other towns, believe me the other night was not a town meeting. It was more like a bunch of bored people getting together to attack a few good people. Sounds ignorant doesn't it. That's because it is. Let's ignore Sad Sue from now on. Pretend she doesn't exist, she's not important to the mission of finding the truth.
