Your right, she is "stupid" and the worst part is, she's teaching someones children! I for one would never wittness anyone's signature unless they were right in front of me and the picture on the DL matched the face I'm looking at. I am a notary myself and for the life of me can't come up with a good excuse for Pat Burke no matter how far I push it. There isn't one, she knew the law, Pat Burke that is. She knew what she was doing was wrong. I don't care what she says. She has real character issues as does the current wife. When the Lawyers get finished with those two they'll wish they had never met David Syrkus.
What really chaps my hide are the positions these people are entrusted with. One of them is a Chief of Police, he aquired his job through deception, One of them holds the position of town clerk who thinks it's ok to charge a citizen hundreds of dollars for public records. The other player in all of this is a SCHOOL TEACHER of all things. Man, what the world is going on here? Oh but, their all innocent! Yeah right!
With a reputation of "if his lips are moving, he's lying", it is very hard to pick which lie the perjury charge will be on and we don't really know if FDLE caught him in mutiple lies.
I am going to guess that it could be his initial contact with FDLE, you know, the phone conversation with Inspector Mark Mitchell, where he assure Mitchell that if there is any problem with the sale of the house, he will go see the ex and make things right.
Hey beachsmart, that's what the general belief is. In his (David's) haste to throw someone else under the short bus he didn't think it through. He figured, and this is just my theory, that if he put the spotlight on DD and because Davids some hotshot Chief of Police then FDLE would take what he says as the truth. Poor planning on his part. I do believe that all of this hit rather quickly and he didn't have much time to string his web enough to make his lies mesh with the evidence. Bummer for him.
I have a couple of question; is it typical for FDLE to give the heads up to someone under investigation the way they did him? Did they realize that he would go up to SC to try to hinder the investigation? Why would they do that? Do you think they told him to "take care of this situation before it goes any further?" Just wondering.

Factfinder, buy or sell, it's a fact. Now, remember that he took her sister with him. Yes, they got into the house and with DD's pic. The ex was told that Dean had mental problems and he might show up there and do them harm.
Good one, but not good enough. A REAL Chief doesn't assume! He filed a complaint on an assumption? Sounds like someone wants to know what we know and is looking for his defense on this blog.

Let's pretend that Davie was a little bit angry at DD. Let's pretend that Davie doesn't like someone asking for a copy of his file, he gets angry when news cast don't make him out the hero, ethics complaints are funny when they are lodged against his enemies, but dares anyone write a complaint on him (after all, he's never done anything wrong). Let's pretend that Davie lost his cool and in a bit of rage, feels he can get two birds with one stone by filing a false report on DD with FDLE. After all, FDLE will believe him. He is buddies with all the local office and after all, they know the rules of protocol: He got a heads up phone call. Let's now think like a man enraged by a mere citizen, not just any man, but a crooked Chief of Police.
In his state of fury, he lied to FDLE thinking he was taking the spotlight from himself and throwing it unto someone else. It had always worked before and he was sure it would again.
The sorry part to my theory is it almost did work, but guess what?
The Special Prosecutor will announce his chages anyday now and they won't be against DD because Davie lied.
I have never seen the charge Perjuries, so maybe there was more than one.

There was no "sincere letter!" David Syrkus was being vindictive when he filed that FALSE complaint against DD. The guy is a crook, he stole 1/2 of 65K, lied and said the transaction concerning the sale of that house cost him some, 3,000 dollars. What more do you all need to know. David lied, stole, and tried to ruin yet another life. Let him rot in jail. This is going to be a test on the judicial system to see if ST gets her justice. Not just for the theft of her half of the money but also for the PISTOL WHIPPING, DAVID STEALING HER SON AWAY FROM HER AND LET'S NOT FORGET THE CHEATING ON HIS MARRIAGE VOWS TO HER. I rest my case!
Yo Lovey, the intent was shown in his trip itself. The only reason he had to travel that far was to try to squash the complaint. If he didn't see the documents from DD to the ex until he got there, why did he take the picture?

Asked her grandfather for the sister's phone # then talked the sister into taking a ride with him to visit the ex, whom by the way, has been hiding from him, DAH! Dosen't sound like a get along kinda thing to me. Why did he only search for her after finding out about the FDLE investigation? Why didn't he just do that in the first place when he had her money???????? Why, Why, Why, Anyone?

I never knew that a messenger of imformation had to address Town Commissioners in a certain fashion. I feel as an elected official, they are bound to look at the information, no matter how the information comes, written or oral, at home or during meetings. Maybe you are correct. Maybe this commission is waiting for a different messenger or a different mode of messengering. Maybe their receiving a copy of the Executive Order will make a difference.

That's a good question and I personally would have to ask how or why you would have information as to who, when, and how DD may have applied for positions. Did you request copies, public record, or are you speaking from what you have heard?
My feeling is ,if there have been derogatory comments made about DD and his applying for jobs after graduation from the police academy,they were spread by Davie and we all know he lies. The good ole Boy system seems to be alive and well. Maybe, just maybe these statements will be rethought when Davie goes to jail.
I don't want to harp on the subject, but it sure looks like (after reading the AP news today) that our Gov. may have to look again at the entire picture of law enforcement. Questions are being ask and investigations are being turned over to others. Down in Broward county, one news reporter is being picked on pretty bad for trying to do an article on cops.
For those of you who haven't seen "the quit claim", I have snickered to myself for some time about the date on that darn document.

The criminal action was done long before his visit and no matter what he did afterwards doesn't take the criminal action away.
The State has to stop THEFT by Quit Claim, so no one can take your property tomorrow.
Golfbabe, I agree with you when you say Davie should never have gotten the "heads up call". The standards of receiving a complaint or a request for investigation seem to have been flawed somewhere.
On a personal level, I plan on writting Tallahassee about this. With all the stir in the newspaper concerning FDLE at this time, maybe they should hear from the public with any information about FDLE actions or non actions.
Dick Tracey, I thought you were the resident genius when talking about police rules and regs? If this was the case you would know FDLE by law has to notify any sworn law officer in the state when a complaint is received. Since your complaint was not at the time based on anything until after the letter from ST (they had to have a victim) by law they had to notify syrkus. As for the rest of you, FDLE could care less what you want, say or think you know. They are the real detectives and police officers, not a bunch of pissed off people with a blog!
I'm sure this will either not be posted or I will get slammed and called Syrkus for it, but I promise I know more than you when dealing with FDLE!

Lovinthebeach, DD didn't seek sherry out to get a statement from her. david and sherry never got along after the divorce. She was in hiding from him, hence no Driver's License or home phone. David "sought her out" to cover his ass, and to make this go away. He wasn't concerned one bit about her he was looking after his own hide. If he were one bit worried about her, he would have given her her share of the money. Especially when he saw how she lived and had NO car! No he wasn't worried about her at all!
Her husband told her to sign david's spin on this escapade to get him the hell out of their home. He offered to take them out to dinner and they said no! They didn't even want to break bread with this crook! When the last document provided to FDLE was handed over it explained what he said to her and exactly what happened that day Davie boy went up to SC. What ever you do, don't let him fool you, he's a wolf in sheeps clothing. Bottom line, sherry thomas isn't unstable at all, maybe a little scared of her ex but not unstable at all. I for one am happy to say she's a lot tougher than she used to be. If he had hit me with that pistol I would have first shot his balls off and then beat the crap out of him with it. Hell, then I would have called 911, handcuffed myself and waited for my ride. It would have been all worth it! By the way, he towers over her. She's just a little bitty thing. He's a coward.

After he, jyrkus, got ST to sign that statement he is relying on for his defense he dialed their sons number from his cell phone and let her talk to him for a mere 3 minutes for the first time since this kid was 4. A little peace offering? I don't think so. "Sign this and I'll let you talk to your son," kind of thing. She was furious after this tub of lard left her house. He's such a loser!
