Hello New Town Manager!
OK, with DAVID the Crook doing the background of a new town manager, what should be done? Should the Town Manager place Burke AND Syrkus on administrative leave pending the outcome of the ongoing CRIMINAL investigation? OR should they remain in control of town resources? I, personally will be writing a letter or email to the NEW town manager about this. What do you guys think? Should the Manager do the same thing that is done in ALL agencies when an employee is under investigation pending ANY immoral act? Why dont we all start go ahead and let our voices be heard.. Tell the new Toan Manager the PROPER way to handle these "trouble" employees! Get to writin people.. Post here let us know what you think, Write emails and letters. Let the town know what you REALLY think of this BAD situation that is EMBARASSING the Beautiful Melbourne Beach. Save the town Get rid of the circus!

I think that from day one these derelicts should have been sent to the house pending the outcome of the investigation. Now since the safety net of doing just that is not in place, The town is gonna be embarrased because if the investigation gets completed and an arrest is going to be made in the very near future the town gets the pleasure of being on all the news channels as the world watches their precious derelict chief and clerk taken out in handcuffs. You didn't play by the rules so now you get the media attention. I promise that all news stations will be there once they hear an arrest is imminent. I would be running for the toilet every time I saw a news truck if i lived in that town. comments?
I for one challenge the new town manager to do what is expected and place these two individuals on administrative leave now! Pat, don't think your off the hook. Your arrogence through this whole thing has been absolutly astounding to me, I hope Josh gets a good picture of you crying while being lead out to the police car in handcuffs.

any manager that comes to this town or employee for that matter is walking in to a nightmare. just ask any of the current employees not under an investigation. they all hate it there! why, because no one is doing anything about anything! back stabbing management our employees cant come to work for five seconds without hearing some crap about this stuff. and from what i hear we will be losing atleast half of our police department within the next 6 months if something is not done with the chief one way or another, they want to know what the hell is going on and if he did anything as well. quit the crap and lets get it done people!

If they don't like it here let them quit! Who cares? They come and they go at the PD since walters left. Last time we had any real stability as I remember. I could name nearly all the Police officers then as most had been here for years now they are mostly strangers to me and I just worry.

i wonder why those officers quit? lets see, they were leaving before syrkus, and you say after walters retired as THE CHIEF? well what happened when walters left from being the chief? he became a commissioner, and then started fighting every raise and benefit that the police department wanted. if you dont believe me go and check the voting...4 to 1 or 3 to 2, walters always against the department. and for the record there were only about 6 officers that were there for a long period during his term as chief. right now there are only two officers that have been with the town since 2001, ask the old officers or even the new. i bet the majority would say they left because of things walters did, and dont forget, he wanted syrkus here and fought to have him every step of the way. did you notice that every chief that applied before syrkus he attacked. then syrkus came and he left him alone until syrkus said no to him, now look at whats going on. i'm not at all saying syrkus is perfect, but walters is to blame for the turn around in the police department!

THE MINUTES TO THE TOWN'S MEETINGS SAY THAT HIGGINBOTHAM WAS THE ONE WHO PICKED SYRKUS OUT OF A LIST OF 4 THAT THE COMMITTEE TO HIRE A NEW CHIEF HAD SELECTED. PART OF THE REQUIREMENT TO BE A MELBOURNE BEACH CHIEF WAS A DEGREE. SINCE WE KNOW THAT SYRKUS HAS A FAKE DEGREE, DO WE BLAME THE COMMITTEE OR IS IT HIGGINBOTHAMS FAULT FOR NOT TELLING. ONLY THE TOWN COMMISSIONER, CHEIF AND THE TOWN MANAGER KNOW EXACTLY WHAT TOOK PLACE. THE REST ARE MERELY SPECULATING.

and yes if a jury awards money and the person can't pay a lien can be placed on their house even if it is homesteaded the winner just can't force you to sell the house.
any other property can be seized by court order and sold outright to enforce the jury award.
