Speaking of Jail, didn't I just see a picture in the local newspaper showing the new tents our Sherrif has bought. Could it be that we will soon have a "Circus Tent"? lol

Below are a few lines taken from a complaint against DD
As I looked further at these documents I noticed notary signatures on two of the documents. The first a questionnaire was signed by a female with a rubber stamp simply stating my "commission expires December 3. 2009". No where on this document did it list the notaries name, the State or any type of notary number. On the second document the notary signature was even stranger. There was now rubber stamp and corrective action was taken on the date of expiration. I also noticed that the signature had a strange resemblance to that of Mr. Darlings. Based on this information it is obvious that Mr. Darling had contacted my ex-wife: representing himself as a law enforcement officer. My ex-wife during the phone conversation was under the impression that the caller was a law enforcement officer.
Could this possibly be the perjury charge FDLE has listed on their prosecutive summary?
Davie, first you say he impersonated a police officer and then you hint that he falsely notarized a document. Looking back on it all now, have you seen the error in judgement.
By the time you complained about DD, all the documents had already been looked over by several agencies and TMV Mayor had asked for an investigation. Did you really think that you would be able to pick up on anything that had not already been checked out. You really do need to get your ego into check. I find it most noble that you, Beach_Guy bear a such great amount of respect for "Mr. Syrkus". And that is as it should be. We should have respect for those people in such esteemed positions. And people that are IN those positions should be deserving of that utmost respect. Just the very sound of their positions makes one think of the word "respect". Chief of Police, Police Officer, City Clerk, Notary Public, and School Teacher.
Contrary to what you may believe about me, I hope in the end that you are right about him. That the "malcontents" are just doing a "witch hunt" and that there isn't anything at all to the alleged forgery of the Police Chief's ex-wife's name, nor the witnessing of that signature by persons in other respected positions such as another police officer sworn to uphold the law, a city clerk and notary which is a very trusted position that carries with it an extreme amount of confidentiality requirements and professionalism AND a school teacher....one in which we trust our children with.
I really do hope you're right. And if you're not right, and the forgery and theft DID occur and these people are not punished accordingly and are able to maintain their esteemed positions in our society.....then I'm going to own a bunch of property......cheap. .................................................

Hey Beach_guy, your welcome to go on the above website and look at the signatures, you don't have to be a handwriting expert to see they do not belong to Sherry Thomas. As for what you said about us doing all of the name calling, at the risk of sounding like a little kid, they (Syrkus friends) started it and as much crap as they have handed out they got it back two fold. Furthermore, the only posts that don't get posted are the ones that are obscene or just simply get lost in cyberspace.
I got it dicktracey, the whole address has to be on the address bar. When I copied the address and pasted it only the first line was pasting. So obvious to see that the two don't match the real sherry thomas sig. The least they could have done was to try to match her signature. These are really dumb criminals. Talk about cocky!

Hey Lacey, welcome back, your right, sometimes you come up against people that won't think or can't think for themselves because all of their lives someone has done it for them. It's been interesting to see how those people interact with others. There was a meeting in MB last week and there were a couple of people heckling DD because he was saying things they didn't want to hear. It was pretty funny actually how the "remaining supporters" of Syrkus are still sticking up for him. I do believe the list of supporters has dwindled down to next to nothing. Just a few slow learners left.

Hey Golf, you are correct, after Sherry's divorce from Davie, she married a guy named Thomas.
As for your question concerning the address on the deed, the address belonged to K webb, then girlfriend to Syrkus, now wife.
It has always been very strange to me that the Circus and his "girls", Webb and Burke, couldn't come up with another address. Webb obviously knew who lived there and so did Burke. Syrkus had listed it as his home address when he applied for a job with TMV. Funny though, that it sold the same time frame as the home that Syrkus and Sherry owned together.
Syrkus has always claimed that after his divorce with Sherry, she just disappeared. He then married the party he was dating while married to Sherry. And her name was Sherri. He always told the story that he put her through law school, but if you check on that, she must have been the best of students, because their marriage didn't last that long.
All of his stories are twists and turns, usually far from the truth.
Read his divorce decree from the first Sherry. It is on line at the Palm Beach Clerk of Courts Website. It states that he was supose to keep the house in good shape, pay for all repairs, obviously, he didn't think that he had to obey that court order.

Yesterday, I was looking around in the Palm Beach records and got a copy of " Release of Mortgage" on said property. The mortgage was not in the name of Syrkus, but a copy was sent after it was recorded to: David R Syrkus and (drum roll please) Sherry L Syrkus
at the address he had on Greenboro.
I am sure (hahahahahaha) that he saved a copy for her to mail as soon as he FOUND her. Maybe he took that copy with him when he went up to SC to visit. The same one where he took his wedding album. Of course we all knew that he had no clue where she was at that time. He should have asked his friend Burke as to Sherry's address, she had recently seen her and notarized a document for her. hahahahahahahahahaha The original note or mortgage on the house in 1975 was not quiet $31,000.00.
It looks like Davie paid on someone else's mortgage for a loooong time and never got one in his own name until here in Brevard. I wonder if it had to do with credit. hmmmmmm

There are Melbourne Village employees, former and current residents who are using this blog to vent their distain for Chief Syrkus because of their experiences with the Chief during his TMV tenure. Because identity is secret, anyone can say anything about anyone without fear of reprisal. Keep that in mind when reading these posts. Several of the "Village People" have exposed themselves with the info they've posted. I can tell who they are because of what they say and what they proclaim to know. Some have a proclivity to perform detective work and are relentless in their research efforts. Several I know have a true vendetta ( Sicillian for 'blood war'?). It seems their concerns during the TMV "reign of terror" might have been accurate afterall. I'm sorry they chose to scream their message like maniacs, during the TMV years.
This blog is making the same mistake. Too many personal, crazy comments that discredit all. You suffer credibility with the ranting and raving.
Don't continue the mistake of the Villagers who used the wrong technique in communicating their message. Get sane, get simple, use documents and show the documents to your elected officials. You have way more documentation than was ever available during the TMV years.
Your main problem is the most incredible lack of intelligence ever on a Town Commission. Sorry about that. A town full of brilliant people and no one with any strength willing to serve for the public good...quite pathetic!

You are right about the commission being stupid, they are! They aren’t public servants they are employee servants. Not good for the tax payers. When I was a child my mother told me a story that left an impression. You may know the story also. It goes like this:
One day the Wind and the Sun got into an argument about which was the stronger. Finally they decided to have a contest. They looked down upon the Earth and saw a man wearing a coat. Wind told Sun that he would prove his strength by blowing the coat from the man. Wind proceeded to blow with his greatest strength. The man wrapped his arms around his coat and held on and Wind finally gave up. Then Sun had his turn to force the man to remove his coat. Sun slowly raised the heat and soon the man removed his coat.
The message I got from the story is that brute force may not always be the best means of attaining the objective. The quiet, logical, reasoned means of convincing a man to change his mind can be the most successful. Your objective is to convince the Town Commission that David Syrkus is unfit for public service. Assigning him stupid nicknames does nothing to convince the Commissioners of your credibility. Yes, its' lots of fun and very entertaining but let's use some pyschology here. If you're serious about getting something done about this, you need to approach this like an attorney in a courtroom. Admittedly, I've ignored my own advice by being critical of the Commission. But I'm not you and I have no dog in this fight. If you want to influence the Commission, you have to befriend these sorry souls, and help them resolve the problem. Show them the documents in private, not in public displays of anger as I've seen at Town meetings. You have the power to change the situation but I guarantee the tirades on the blog are not the easiest way. They will simply dig in and hold their position. Show them your intention is to help them, prove that you're allies, and want them to succeed. That should be your objective!
A few years ago I faced a similar situation with a government entity. As the community publicly raged about the issue, I did the research, uncovered previously
unknown evidence to support my claims, privately met with the government entity and its'attorney and within a week, the government entity changed it's stance 180 degrees to agree with my position.
Truly, MB has a Commission that seems totally ignorant of it's responsibility. HAS ANYONE ASKED FOR THE ADVISE OF AN ATTORNEY? Mr. Tsmoautales has yet to be mentioned in this ongoing adventure. He has a long history with the Chief as TMV attorney. Has no one asked him to give a legal opinion...certainly the Commission should have asked a long time ago and publicly stated how they intended to handle the situation based on that opinion. And where is the Town Manager regarding this issue. Isn't he communicating with the attorney regarding the Chief and shouldn't he be stating an opinion of the legal status, based on attorney advice? Really, WHATS'GOING ON HERE?!?!? Isn't anyone doing their job?

there is no reasoning with them.
Price make the statement that he is not concerned of crime in the past. I take that as a person no one can reason with. A cop can continue to work for MB as long as he committed all his crimes before hire?
I have to have faith in the FDLE investigation at this point and hope that when charges are made and Davie is arrested and booked, standards and training will not allow any further work until after trial.
As for advice from the Town's attorney, that gets tricky. Nick is the Town attorney for TMV too.
Doesn't seem to me that he should or could work from both ends. And you have to remember, it was TMV that wrote the letter to the Gov. requesting an investigation. I would think that Nick had to have been in on that letter.
Good Morning Son of a Gun, that was a good story and I understand your point. Let's look at some historical facts; DD went to the commission first with what he had, that got him no where. He let them know what they would have known about David had they done a proper investigation into his background before they hired him. He was attacked on one hand and shunned on the other. Don't you think that if an actual qualified and deserving chief were in MB Dean would have his job and we wouldn't be here? The psych exam was bogus, dean took another one from an independent and passed it. Too bad Davie's "boy," who first administered the test didn't do his job right. Also, too bad Davie made this farce of an exam public to discredit DD. This whole issue is actually about people in high places with the power to ruin people not being qualified to do the jobs MB citizens deserve. Another fact, when this blog started we got bombarded with people throwing those perverbial stones at us. David himself was on here, his wife was on here and let's not forget sad sue. They are pretty quiet now, I call it the calm before the storm. The only one still instigating the name calling and stone throwing is our very own realmelbch, anonymous (who is also the realmelbch, and whatever other name he is using when he comes on here trying to spew total nasty filth. Well looks like he's gone also, started his own wanna-be-blog. And if you'll notice, we quit posting his stuff and he's over there on his blog talking to himself. We have had over 500 hits this week,over 15K since the last week in December when Big_Ram put the hit counter up there. Therefore, I must believe people want to know what's going on. Like weneedjustice said, "this blog will probably go quiet after the imminent arrest of David Syrkus and hopefully Pat burke and Karen Syrkus for their part in this crime. Have a great day.
Hey geterdone, First of all, our meeting are a farce, complete chaos, no organization at all. I know, I know, teenagers can watch TV with headphones blasting heavy medal and hip hop in their ears while doing homework and come up with decent grades. In the situation of a public meeting, things should have some sort of rules and regulations. When trying to form business for a Town, adults should be able to hear one another, adults should be able to agree that it is okay to disagree.
Meetings at MB are a mob scene and sometimes taken over by the parties with the loudest voices.
Until those in charge are "in charge", I don't see anything positive progressing.
My opinion and I am sticking to it.
Geterdone, I guess I should apologize to you and the “good commissioners.” In my haste to get my post typed up this morning so I could get to a meeting on time I did lump them all together. I hope that you and the “good commissioners” will accept my apology. Now, the fact that Poor Paul, the liar, and Donnie Price, the “follower” are in Syrkus’ pocket and WD is gone, I am hard pressed to believe something can’t be done to get this UNQUALIFIED wanna be chief out of that department. Price and Poor Paul are clearly out numbered so what’s the excuse? Get this idiot out of the police dept before there is even more shame thrust upon MB. It is that simple! Demand it! It’s your government not Poor Pauls and Donnie Price’. Does Donnie Price even live in MB? If not then why would the citizens vote for someone who isn’t even a member of their community? As for the “good commissioners,” why are they letting these idiots bully them into submission? Walters is a pretty strong person by himself but can’t do it all by himself so what’s the problem with the others? The law states that complaints on a police officer will be looked into. I don't see how the Town Commissioners can continue to avoid responding to these things.
There had been several complaints against DOC employees and it appears they were not handled correctly. Now the DOC has a new leader and heads are rolling.
Maybe complaints on officers should go directly to the Gov.'s Office if nothing is done on the Town level.
Good question beachsmart; and yes there have been several people looking for loans. In the palm Beach records we have found only one recorded and that was back in 1980 as he was buying the home and it was for $5,000.00 and was paid the following year.
The title company has stated that he left closing with a check for almost $66,000.00. Even if he had refinanced the home prior to closing (without the ex-wife's okay), a loan should have been paid off prior to his getting any money at closing.
The newspaper says he was not around when the quit claim was signed on April 11th. I would like to know what he received, mail or otherwise, that led him to quitclaim the property in May to someone else from himself only. How did he know that the ex-wife had given up her share? Did he send her a thank you note when he found out? Upon hearing from FDLE that he had a complaint against him and even to the point of filing that stupid complaint against DD, he always said he had heard nothing from the wife for years and that she had no knowledge that he ever worked for TMV. So why would she leave her state and travel all the way to TMV,
where he just happened to work, to quit claim her share of the property away. I do believe there are notaries in her home state. She was able to locate and use notaries there on all her complaints and statements.
I am glad my comments were able to answer your question Beachsmart. It is hard for all of us to understand how our local goverment gets so wrapped up with employees that they forget to protect the people. Town rules and regulations which could and should send employees home under these circumstances (or fired) have been overlooked or ignored. The liability on the Town during this whole episode has been tremendous. As we all have seen, whatever problems this has or will cause through the Towns insurance will only raise the premiums in the future. That cost always is picked up by the taxpayer.
I think you are right, the discussion of this story will be repeated over and over at election time and some will lose their seats no matter which side of the fence they sit today.
I want to take this one step further with a comment about the position itself.
Chief of Police, someone who takes an oath to protect, someone who Should hold the respect of all people, and someone who should resign before putting this much pressure and embarrassment on his department. To me, the actions and non-actions that Syrkus has shown, tells me that he should never have been made a Chief to be begin with.

The "misinformed citizens" aren't hurting Melbourne Beach...but the Mel Beach authorities could very well be. The Commissioners of Melbourne Beach are responsible for seeing to it that citizens are getting what they pay for. If the tazpyers are paying for a top cop required to have a legit 4 year degree, and they're not getting that...well, then the Mel Beach authorities are not doing THEIR job.

Charges Expected Against Police Officers
Two Orlando police officers are off the job and expected to be facing felony charges. An investigation is underway into their possible involvement in a scheme to falsify documents.
Orlando police officials admit charges against the officers will be filed any day. Sources close to the case said car dealership E.J. Sales and Service Incorporated is also involved.
Sources said the dealership enlisted the help of someone at Hughes Towing Company in Orlando and two Orlando police officers to create clean titles for mere shells of trucks, which could enable the dealership to sell trucks rebuilt with parts as if they were from the factory.
If these two officers did what they are being accused of shouldn't they be allowed to work until charges are actually brought forth like Syrkus is being permitted to do? Let them get a few more paychecks. I'm sure they feel like they'll be cleared of all charges as well.
Golfbabe01, you make a good point. I just remembered an officer being put on paid leave right here in MelBeach back in November. He had broken a county odinance and was sent home with pay according to Florida Today. The story quoted Syrkus as saying "He resigned so it doesn't have anything to do with the department."
Isn't it nice when we can pick and choose who goes home on paid leave and for what. A county ordinance gets you paid leave.(the case later on became a no pros) A criminal investigation by FDLE lets you continue to work as nothing has happened.
But regardless of how hard some try to pretend "innocent until proven guilty" or "sweep it under the rug until the maid comes", or "as long as he hasn't done anything since hire", there has been damage done to the department. Even if his own officers and all residents thought that he "hung the moon" before, it will take a while for anyone to step into the Chief's position in MB and get the respect the office deserves. Maybe we should have counselors come in after Syrkus is gone.

It is my understanding that all investigations, at least those by FDLE, have a "Prosecutive Summary" which would be the investigators view point on what the investigation can prove. Sometimes the prosecutor will do further investigation if he sees that maybe other charges could be filed. I personally want forgery and conspiracy as well as the perjury and grand theft. It took more than one person to get the documents recorded.
I agree with you on the perjury, dishonesty to FDLE, during a criminal investigation means it had to have occurred since his hire. We have all been told Syrkus' statements of DD impersonating a police officer. FDLE, nor anyone else has approached that statement, therefore I believe it is one of the falsehoods he told FDLE.
My phrase "sweep it under the rug until the maid comes" was reflecting the reaction of the sitting commission waiting on FDLE to do their work for them.
I also believe that FDLE will have his certification pulled for the perjury. The State can not allow cops to lie to FDLE, otherwise any investigation they did would be a farce.
I have heard about the editorial, but have not read it yet. All municipalities have laws, rules, and regulations. Some good and some not so good. Maybe MelBeach has put too much authority in the hands of the City Manager and the Commission feels their hands are tied, I don't know. I am ready for the "MAID" to arrive!

2. Who was the realtor?
3. Why did he think the ex-wife had signed the documents? He stated that he did not know where she was and had not spoken to her in years.

This ex we are referring to hasn't been seen nor heard from in some 17 years. david didn't know where she was at the time all of this took place. How did the realtor find her when the chief of police couldn't? He didn't. We found her after discovery and David found out through FDLE that all of this was taking place. David then found sherry's sister through what he claims was a Christmas card she sent him.. Also, a lie. He actually went to Sherry's grandfather and he told him where to find the sister and the sister accompanied him to SC under the impression her sister was in danger from DD. That about sums it up. So much for that theory/defense. Do you really think there was a realtor? Just some food for thought. Syrkus assumed that after 17 years of his keeping the ex-wife from THEIR son, that she was just going to give up her share because some realtor that he can't remember said she had to.
And then there's the realtor did the fraud all by him/herself and David didn't ask, being the great detective he is, as to how or where the realtor found her so he could thank the ex-wife for being such a giving person.
Again, going with your theory of the fraud being done by the realtor, why did David run to the ex-wife's home upon receiving a call from FDLE about the complaint against him. Why didn't he explain to FDLE, at that time, that some foolish realtor, who I gave a commission to, who I can't remember, must have committed fraud and made me believe that the ex had given me the whole house. Why did he go to her home and tell her that it COST HIM $3,000.00 to sell the darn thing and that he had advertised in multiple states trying to locate her. We all know today that David knew where the grandfather lived all along and certainly was able to find her when his butt got in the sling.

Staying with your version Lovinthebeach, if David received the quit claim from the realtor, who didn't or couldn't find a notary and witnesses for the fraudulant signature of the ex-wife, why did Patty notarize with "personally known by me". She had never met this person. And why did they change the lot #. There is no lot #347 in that development. And then the next fraudulant document Patty notarizes, she adds that the ex had to produce a drivers license.
And is the realtor being blamed for the corrective warranty also.
The notice that one was needed because the quit claim was not legible was sent to Syrkus. Did he then send it back to the "realtor" for a signature only to find it coming back to him without witnesses and notary again. Give me a break! Get Real!
Moore fixit, to answer your first question. your guess is as good as mine as far as finding a Commission who can put up with the abuse. As for the abuse, you folks in MB have a divided commisson, that's where I would start, finding people who are only looking out for the best interest of the PEOPLE not the employees and each other's own interests. As for your second paragraph, you make a good point, I remember all of my former realtors. It just makes good sense. I also, receive Christmas cards from most of them. When you make a good commission from someone you try to keep in touch because maybe they have referrals or they themselves may need my services again someday. That's how the game is played.
I believe as you do that there is a realtor out there and I am sure FDLE found this person and interviewed him or her. The realtor would be on the paperwork. Maybe that is the lie that FDLE is charging him with. We'll just have to wait and see.
I agree with you Lovinthe beach to some extent, the signature was made by Syrkus or the present wife. I don't believe there was a realtor. Why would a realtor have put Kwebby's address on the quit claim and why would k webby sign as a witness except to help convince Patty that the signature was real and it was okay to notarize.
I disagree that the investigation has been handed off. It appears that it has gone straight down the line as it should. Special Prosecutors for people in office is nothing new.
Moore fix it, when you say it in the manner you just used, it reminds me of an old shirt I sometimes like to wear. It is not attractive anymore, can't wear it outside the house, but it is familiar.
